Hello, my name is Cynthia Williams and I am an Authentic Tantra® Practitioner and a Certified Sexologist.
I graduated from the Institute of Authentic Tantra®, which is the first and only government accredited school for Tantric Sexual Healing in the whole world!
I’ve been a Massage Therapist and a Reiki Master for almost 30 years.
What brought me to this junction in my life? I was lost Sexually and didn’t know why. I always felt as if something was missing or maybe I was broken. I would hear about these amazing sexual experiences and couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t necessarily having them. I mean I found Sex good, but not amazing. There was a deeper connection I longed for, but if you ask me to explain what it was, I honestly couldn’t tell you.
I read a lot about Tantra. I picked up books and half read them. I needed accountability. I needed structure. I needed truth. I mostly read a lot on Neo-Western Tantra, which seems to only want to teach me about better sex. Awesome, right? Well, no not really.
What I’ve learned is you have to heal from the root and not from the branches and this is what Authentic Tantra taught me. It helped me Heal all my deep-seated roots.
It showed me where my shame and guilt were. It pointed out how my Culture Conditioning manifested in my body. It taught me that Pleasure was my Birthright and how to tap into it.

Authentic Tantra® which is lineage-based and have been passed down unbroken from Teacher to Student for over 1200 years. We are a Trauma-Informed holistic sexual healing modality, that provides powerful methods to heal sexual trauma, awaken pleasure, and restore balance in the body, mind, spirit and sexuality. We combine compatible disciplines from Taoist sexual yoga, Modern somatic healing techniques and Non-Violent Communication and Western science.
It is rooted in the Tibetan 5 element teachings from the Shangpa Kagyu Tradition. the Shangpa Kagyu lineage is one of the only lineages that contains teachings to work actively and directly with sexual energy, via the Tibetan 5 Element Practices. It is noted that this is also one of the only remaining lineages that was founded by women, and the only lineage that we are aware of that was founded by a Black woman.
In the Authentic Tantra® modality, we use the creative power of sexual energy to fuel and enrich the process of healing and transformation. We believe that any Tantric practice should include instructions in how to address sexuality from an informed, compassionate, and shame-free perspective.
The ability to integrate all our human experience through skillful means of loving kindness and compassion is the hallmark of what makes this modality truly an authentic expression of the heart and soul of Tantra.
The Tibetan Five Element Tantric Teachings give us a guidebook for approaching sexuality from a standpoint of mindfulness and presence and offer us concrete tools for harnessing our sexual energy and using it skillfully.

CODE OF ETHICS
Authentic Tantra® is a trademarked holistic sexual healing modality which includes the application of the Tibetan 5 Element Teachings of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism. The modality is owned by Devi Ward Erickson and licensed by the Institute of Authentic Tantra Education.
The founders of the Institute take their responsibility for sharing The Tibetan 5 Element Tantric Teachings with the general public very seriously. It is in our interest to protect these ancient Tantric teachings by making sure that the spreading of them happens in a way that preserves their authenticity as well as protects the Certified Authentic Tantra® Practitioners and their clients.
This document, in conjunction with the document titled Certification through IATE, is created in order to serve this purpose.
The Code of Ethics and Ethical Codes of Conduct was created and implemented in 2016. All Authentic Tantra® Practitioners who have obtained their Certification in 2016 or later have signed and are bound by this Code. Graduates from previous years are encouraged to sign and practice by this code. Signature of this document is one of the requirements for being endorsed by the Institute.
The Institute recommends anyone looking for a Certified Authentic Tantra® Practitioner to ensure that they connect with a practitioner who has signed this Code and is endorsed on the Authentic Tantra® website.
